The purpose according to the company's top executives was to tarnish the image of the company and make a few dollars off its already established image by selling low-quality replicas. While copycats are hard to really put behind bars or sue as some top businesses like Dell, Sony and Microsoft can attest to but going on the offensive is the only legal route for the company that sees its image being tarnished in the wake of low-quality products with the SG logo stamped on it being sold.
"At Stunning Gadgets we have worked hard and continue to do so, in order to make sure that every product we sell is durable, of the highest quality and is backed by a substantial warranty. Many of the components have been extensively tested by our suppliers and by our own quality assurance team to make sure that they fit the bill prior to being assembled. While obviously all this hard work translates to higher costs owing to lots man hours but it also results in the type of quality that makes us proud. That said low-quality replicas by dubious businesses and individuals give people the impression that we are only here to sell in bulk and not necessarily focused on our quality. Stunning Gadgets has said that the company was optimistic that people selling knockoffs especially in this survival gear niche, would soon feel the full brunt of the law. However, legal proceedings take time and the company will have to identify specific businesses and people indulging in selling knockoffs. Plus there is little that the company can do against those who are located overseas like in China or Korea, where most of the knockoffs are manufactured and shipped from.

It's a criminal offence to copy someone's trademarked idea or product and so it's taken very seriously here in the US. We know many who are engaged in this business and will be going to court soon against these individuals and businesses.
