New Traffic Lights For Atlanta, Among Other Things

(USGovernment-News.Com, February 27, 2015 ) Atlanta, GA -- Driving downtown Atlanta can be frustrating. Everyone’s in a rush, but traffic just does not seem to move fast enough. It seems that green lights are going at intervals of only seconds. However, this may soon change.

The city is in the current process of passing and infrastructure bond package that could sync the lights to be all clear and green for drivers.

The bond infrastructure package is a part of a $250 million dollars package. The traffic signal would be apart of the package, along with other traffic upgrades needed throughout the city. This project is expecting to cost $35 million of the bond infrastructure. It’s a costly project that has long been overdue. According to reports, the last time the lights were synced in Atlanta was in the 1970s.

It’s not going to be an easy task, pumping funds into this infrastructure bond. It entails re-installing wireless broadband routers, automating existing traffic signals, and even adding energy efficient LED lights, not to mention the yearly maintenance of all these systems will have to be evaluated. Overall, the traffic signal syncing will improve the quality of life for residents through reducing travel times, stops, and delays.

Drivers who run traffic lights have the potential to cause accidents. If you or someone you know has experienced a injury in a car accident you may need the services of an attorney such as Atlanta, Georgia car accident lawyer John Foy at Foy and Associates. His office can be reached by live chat at https://www.johnfoy.com/ or by dialing (404) 879-7518.
