(USGovernment-News.Com, November 13, 2014 ) Jackson, MS -- As winter weather creeps its way into Mississippi, car accidents from these conditions are expected to be more common throughout the next few months.
In fact, two people have already been killed by a weather-related accident this year in Marshall County.
Ice on the road caused a car to slide into the opposite lane of traffic, where the car ended up in a head-on collision with an S.U.V.
While the driver of the S.U.V. fortunately survived, both occupants of the car (residents of Monroe county) had perished at the scene of the wreck.
Temperatures in Mississippi are expected to drop further down, and by Friday it may be in the 20's in some parts of the state. Snow and ice is a possibility, which means drivers should be extra cautious.
