(USGovernment-News.Com, October 17, 2014 ) Cincinnati, OH -- In 2009, a study was done by The Dailey Beast that reported which of America’s 50 states had the most driving fatalities per number of driver’s licenses issued in each state. Some of the results may be surprising.
Indiana and Ohio for example, fell near the bottom of the list; meaning they have a lower ratio of fatal car accidents to the number of driver’s licenses issued across either state. Indiana ranked at 38 with 632 fatal crashes and just over 5,000,000 licensed drivers. While Ohio fell almost right at the bottom at 44. Ohio hosted 944 fatal car accidents with nearly 8,000,000 licensed drivers in the state.
Kentucky is another story all together. Kentucky came in at number 3 on the list. The Bluegrass State does have less fatal car accidents than Ohio with 730 taking place in Kentucky. However, the number of licensed drivers in Kentucky is just under 3,000,000. This means the ratio of fatal crashes to licensed drivers in Kentucky is far higher than that of Ohio and Indiana.
