“The judges on the panel agreed with the jury that our client was totally disabled, despite the fact that he earned $900,000 in his first year of disability, working in his office as a non-surgical orthopaedist,” said the spokesperson.
“Unum was ordered to pay nearly $3 Million in past due benefits, with interest, and will be paying our client approximately $2 Million in future benefits. This is a major win for our client,” he said.
The verdict, which was obtained for an orthopedic surgeon, joins the list of success stories for the seasoned firm.
