(USGovernment-News.Com, May 14, 2013 ) Chrysler has announced a recall for approximately 470,000 Jeep SUV’s worldwide due to cracks in the circuit board. These cracks are causing the automobiles to shift into neutral without warning while starting them up.
This is a huge problem due to the fact that if these automobiles are shifted into neutral without the driver knowing, they can simply roll away. Thus far, this issue has caused a total of 26 crashes and two injuries.
Currently, Chrysler is notifying owners and dealers of this problem and will update its software in order to take care of the problem. These repairs will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.
The recall includes; 2005 to 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokees, along with 2006 to 2010 Jeep Commanders and will cover 295,000 vehicles in the US, 28,500 in Canada, 4,200 in Mexico, and the remaining 141,000 outside of North America.
