(USGovernment-News.Com, April 05, 2013 ) Branford, CT – A man fell asleep while driving North on I-95 on Wednesday causing his car to roll over into a nearby rest area. The roll-over accident caused minor injuries to the man including lacerations to his face and hands.
Following the accident, the man was taken to Yale-New Haven hospital and treated for his injuries. Unfortunately, accidents like this are relatively prevalent as statistics show; around 10,000 deaths are caused each year as a result of roll-over accidents, while nearly 1.9 million drivers are involved in collisions related to fatigue driving.
At Jonathan Perkins Injury Lawyers, we advise all drivers on our Connecticut roadways to drive with caution and avoid driving for any reason if you feel at all fatigued. If it is not possible to avoid driving, there are several things people can do to help increase awareness and reduce fatigue.
A few tips to avoid fatigue include:
• Stretching every two hours or 100 miles • Drink caffeine and chew gum • Take rest breaks • Avoid driving during normal sleeping hours • Avoid taking trips alone • Avoid taking new medications
If you or a loved one has been injured in an automobile accident due to the negligent actions of another individual, the victim may be eligible to receive compensation for their losses and damages including; loss of wages, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and property damage.
