(USGovernment-News.Com, April 04, 2013 ) Mobile, AL – The Carnival Triumph cruise ship, which was stranded in the Gulf of Mexico in February, leaving thousands of passengers stranded with limited food and backed up toilets, recently broke away from its moorings at a Mobile shipyard.
As strong winds swept through Alabama, the Carnival Triumph broke away from its moorings and began drifting from one side of the Mobile River to the other. The cruise ship crashed against a moored Army Corps of Engineers vessel and sustained a scrape on its side.
No one on the Army ship was injured during the collision; however one person was pulled out of the water when the ship broke loose and sustained minor injuries. A second person is still being searched for by the Mobile Fire-Rescue.
