(USGovernment-News.Com, September 29, 2012 ) PHOENIX, AZ – Between the months of July and August, Arizona’s Department of Administration has added approximately 9,000 private-sector jobs within the state. Nevertheless, the employment rate stayed stagnant at 8.3 percent. Arizona officials are stating that the current plan is to add many jobs within the next 10 years for low-wage positions throughout the state. Many residents were unhappy about this projection, as they would like to see the addition of higher paying, higher education-required positions. Yet Arizona college graduates have recently trended towards leaving the state to find work after graduation. This trend supports Arizona’s push for low-wage jobs to support the growing economy.
In regard to a general aversion from Arizona residents, Dan Anderson, the representative economist from the Arizona Board of Regents, stated, “"If it comes to a fine line of feeding your family ... if it were me I would take a job for a low pay until I can find something better”. Low-wage jobs are projected to increase significantly within the next decade.
